I love animation because of how seamlessly it blends reality and fantasy. A lot of my inspirations are drawn from the mundane aspects of my childhood like sci-fi books, Midwestern suburbia, or toys. My work specifically focuses on narratives that question the relationships between ourselves and these very things. By taking cherished items and cultural practices from my past and dropping them into unfamiliar and futuristic situations (using 2.5D collage or 3D visual effects), I try to investigate nostalgia's role in sustaining some of our most beloved connections.
